About Me
My name is Benjamin Robert Hetherington and writing is a passion I first discovered as a primary school student. Being given the artistic freedom to express myself through written composition was a release that I enjoyed, but would not fully appreciate until the latter stages of my academic development.
Having set myself the goal of completing a law/business degree and discovering that such a vocation was not my calling, I terminated my studies at QUT and spent 2004-2006 in a professional soul-searching limbo, chancing my hand at work on an Island Resort, in Manual Labour, and other diverse industries. During this time, the realization that my true vocation was as a writer became stronger and more undeniable, as I immersed myself in prose, poetry and screenplay writing.
In late 2006, I made the bold decision to commence as a first year Film Student at Queensland School of Film and Television, as of Semester 1, 2007. During my time since at QSFT, I have enhanced my passion for writing, finding inspiration in my talented peers, as well as refining my screen/tv writing style.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy spending time with my partner Trine, and my friends. I am also an avid Canberra Raiders (rugby league club) fan. I enjoy karaoke/muso nights, as well as listening to music from artists as varied as the 'Beatles' and 'Incubus.
